PDF Converter & Scanner is designed to give you a fast, capable document workstation without compromising personal privacy. We believe that personal agreements, medical records, invoices, and notes should remain under your control.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the mobile application and our website.
On-Device Processing
Where technically feasible, PDF Converter & Scanner executes document operations directly on your physical device using native operating system frameworks:
- Camera document scanning, real-time edge detection, and document color filters
- Handwritten vector signature drawing, initials placement, and date stamping
- Page management: merging multiple PDFs, splitting by ranges, page rotation, and removing pages
- Document password protection and removing passwords from known-password files
- Photos to PDF compilation with custom paper sizing and margins
- Extracting PDF pages to JPG/PNG images and ZIP archives
- Universal PDF reader, thumbnail scrubber, and local library browsing
For these on-device utilities, source files, scanned images, and generated PDFs remain strictly within your device's private sandboxed storage. They function offline without transmitting document data over the internet.
Permissions We Request
The application requests only the device permissions strictly necessary to perform document tasks:
Camera
Used solely to capture photos of physical paper documents, receipts, or contracts for edge detection and conversion into PDF. Live feeds and captures are processed in local memory and are never uploaded to remote servers.
Photo Library
Used only when you explicitly select photos to convert into a PDF or choose to save extracted page images back to your photo album. The app never scans, analyzes, or indexes your photo library.
Backend Processing & Automated File Cleanup
Certain advanced document operations require specialized server-side rendering and conversion engines that cannot run within mobile sandbox constraints. These include:
- Microsoft Office to PDF conversions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint to PDF)
- Exporting PDF back to editable formats (PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPUB)
- Deep PDF file size compression using high-performance compression engines
- Converting live web URLs and Markdown text to formatted PDF
- Repairing corrupted or damaged PDF document trees
When you initiate these features, your file is transmitted over an encrypted TLS connection directly to our dedicated backend processing API. Files are held in temporary storage strictly to complete the requested operation and allow your mobile app to download the result.
Our automated cleanup service continuously purges expired temporary files and completed jobs from the server disk. Files are automatically deleted within 24 hours (or immediately upon cleanup cycle).
We do not permanently store, inspect, view, sell, or use your documents to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Information We Do Not Collect
- No user accounts, email registration, or logins required.
- No contact lists, precise GPS location, or device sensor tracking.
- No cross-app advertising tracking or data sharing with data brokers.
- No permanent cloud document repository or public links.
Purchases & Subscriptions
All in-app purchases and subscriptions are handled securely by Apple or Google Play using your existing account. We never receive or store your payment card numbers, billing addresses, or banking details.
